Valentine's Day Book Blitz, Day 3: Moonlight by Ann Hunter

Day 3
By Ann Hunter

The Swan Princess is an amazing tale of sacrifice and standing up for whats right. This is very similar, but in many ways VERY different!

Book Blurb:

Moonlight, the WHITNEY AWARD NOMINATED prequel to The Subtle Beauty (free on Amazon), is the book critics are calling "Kind of ethereal", "...a fairytale world that will steal your heart and fuel your imagination".

In this fractured retelling of THE SWAN PRINCESS, one girl will sacrifice much to save her family.

When her mother dies, Aowyn vows to protect her brothers and father from the conniving Ciatlllait who is bent on usurping the throne and the kingdom. To do this, Aowyn makes a deal with the twisted creature Sylas Mortas, only realizing too late that breathing a word of their bargain will kill her swan brothers. Will she be able to wait out the 1,000 moons the steep price of the deal requires with war and romance on the horizon?

Find out in MOONLIGHT.

As the summer months approached, Aowyn spent only enough time at the castle to check on her father and more and more time with her brothers and Xander. Watching Ciatlllait’s belly grow sickened Aowyn. Normally she enjoyed summer, but the oncoming heat only reminded her time dwindled, and a new heir would inherit the crown. It troubled her, but she kept distracted enough to avoid completely agonizing over it.

However, Aowyn noticed something strange about Ciatlllait. The bigger her belly got, the more tired and weaker Ciatlllait became. She remained testy, but did not come across with the will to exercise total dominion. Aowyn began to wonder if the pregnancy might be taking more out of Ciatlllait than a normal woman. She wondered if it was affecting Ciatlllait’s powers.

Aowyn sat brooding about it one night, oblivious as Xander came to the shore of An Cuan Áille and lowered himself beside her. He had learned to keep quiet on nights like these. She beheld the moon and the two stars beside it. If Ciatlllait was growing weak, it would be the ideal time to strike.
