Drum Roll, Please.......

Friday, I told you about the new season for the web series Pretty Darn Funny (PDF). If you missed my original post on this, you can view it HERE. The first episode is available right NOW!! Today, there's actually a bonus because there are two videos!

The first one is PDF's parody on "Footloose."

My Thoughts: I love this! It takes me back in time. I was a teenager in the '80's and just starting high school when the original "Footloose" was released. I haven't seen the remake of it because I heard it wasn't that great. Also, I love to read but don't watch movies so much. But back to the video: I also love the other '80's songs they add in and it makes me want to curl my hair, spray a can of Aqua Net on it and stick a big bow in it, pull on my leg warmers and neon shirt (tied at the side, of course), and start moving my feet! Great job, PDF!!

Now, on to episode one: "Movie Cheating"

My Thoughts: Very funny! The more I watch these videos, the funnier they get since there are lots of little things and I pick up on more of them every time I watch one. Each of these videos has a line or two that make me laugh really hard, even later as I'm just thinking about it. This one is, "Where did you get that soda?" I thought the same thing as soon as I saw it (they seemed too cheap to buy one) and I found her expression and what she does next to be hilarious. I'm laughing again as I'm typing this. Let me know what you found to be funny.

My one complaint: I miss the other characters. I think this is actually funnier than the ones where the group is together but I want to know what's going on in their lives and see their growth as a group. It was fun to see them in the "Footloose" parody but I missed Nora and Gordy. I read on prettydarnfunny.com that this season is going to be more about Gracie and her interactions with her family. I think she's very funny with her children so I'm looking forward to that but hope that we'll still get to see the entire group, too.

Longing for Home, by Sarah M. Eden
2013, 432p

Though she was only a child during the darkest days of Ireland's Great Famine, Katie Macauley feels responsible for the loss of her family s land and the death of her sister. Now a woman grown, Katie has left Ireland for America and the promise of earning money enough to return home again and plead for her family's forgiveness. She arrives in Hope Springs, Wyoming Territory, a town sharply divided between the Americans who have settled there, with their deep hatred of the Irish, and the Irish immigrants who have come searching for a place to call home. Her arrival tips the precarious balance, and the feud erupts anew. Even in the midst of hatred and violence, however, Katie finds reason to hope. Two men, as different as they are intriguing, vie for her heart, turning her thoughts for the first time toward a future away from Ireland. Katie must now make the hardest decision of her life: stay and give her heart a chance at love, or return home and give her soul the possibility of peace. (Amazon)
