Film synopsis:
One cold night in the Utah Territory, three opinionated men, seemingly by chance, find themselves sharing a campfire as they tell tales, swap insults, and expound on their personal beliefs and philosophies. However, one of the men is not there by mere coincidence. Join Porter Rockwell, Mark Twain, and J. Golden Kimball for an entertaining and intriguing evening with three of the most colorful characters of the Old West.
I was intrigued by this movie when I read the summary. It takes place in one night and is the meeting between three men: J. Golden Kimball, the swearing apostle; Porter Rockwell, the destroying angel; and Mark Twain, the famous novelist. They share stories and ideas which help the viewer get to know each of them better.
I watched this with my family and realized my children didn't know the stories about them that I do, so we had a fun discussion afterwards. There are plenty of laughs, especially when it came to J. Golden Kimball's language (no worries--you can watch this with your children). There are also some serious moments as they try to better understand each other.
The actors did a great job portraying these characters and I felt like I learned more about each of them by the end. Whether you know a lot or a little about these men, it's an entertaining and enlightening movie that everyone will enjoy!
