Jace Vega has finally landed her dream job—working for Omnibus, an up-and-coming tech firm. But a mysterious message from her future self sets Jace and her old friend Corey racing to piece together clues before Omnibus destroys their future—and their past. This fast-paced thriller will keep you guessing till the very last page.
Jace finds a tablet while she's out running one morning. She tries to find the owner but can't see anyone anywhere. Then she notices that it has her company's logo on it so she decides to take it to their tech department so they can figure out who it belongs to. She soon realizes that she might want to keep this a secret for now and the plot just gets more complex from there.
There's so much to say yet I don't want to spoil anything so I'll keep this brief. I liked Jace but she seemed a little too trusting at times. There were times that I felt like screaming at her not to go confide in a certain individual. She finds herself drawn to him and figures out who he is in her future but she's not sure how she feels about that. I'm not sure how I feel about that, either. We learn about her in bits and pieces throughout the book and how her childhood is tied into what she's currently going through. One of my burning questions was whether or not she was able to change her future (you'll have to read it to find out).
I was interested in this book from the beginning but it did take a while before I got to the point where I couldn't read it fast enough. I didn't know who to trust or what was going to happen. I love that this book didn't follow any kind of formula so I wasn't able to guess what would come next. Then the ending--wow, what a great twist! I am so looking forward to the next book!
