Robots, renewable resources, and romance get tangled together in this thrilling futuristic adventure novel about a utopian city struggling to keep its peace.

For some reason, it always takes me a while to get into Sci-Fi and this book was no exception. It starts out action packed so it wasn't that at all. It just took me a while to understand what was happening and become invested. Tess starts out living in the Badlands and she is recruited back to Eden to help a group of revolutionaries with some technical stuff that took me a while to figure out. The Badlands is a tough place to live and they hardly have any water to survive on. Eden is a place where the more elite live and they have all they want and need. Something tragic happened to make Tess leave and she now feels compelled to return. She's changed a lot and realizes it as she attempts to hang out with her former best friend.

I really had a hard time at first caring about any members of the group of revolutionaries. I can't pinpoint why that was, either. They did grow on me by the end, though. The story became more interesting to me once Hunter entered the picture. He was a geeky scientific boy that worked for Tess's Uncle Abel. I enjoyed their conversations and how their relationship grew and progressed. They were each keeping secrets from each other and it was interesting to see how those came out.

There were some twists, turns and surprising revelations and Tess needed to figure out who she could trust. Once I got involved, I had to keep reading to find out what would happen next. If you enjoy dystopian Sci-Fi, this is a book you will want to check out!

"Bold futurist adventure with unusual romance, riveting action and ominous ecological red flags." —Kirkus Reviews
