Make General Conference fun year-round! From the creators
of the Sweetly Made (Just For You) website comes a new book filled with fun and creative ways to get your family excited for General Conference, including crafts, recipes, FHE lessons, and more!
At first, I wished I had this book before our last General Conference but after reading through it, realized that I will need longer than a couple of weeks to fully implement all the great ideas in this book!
This book is divided into three parts. Part One is titled "Learn." There's a 15 day conference countdown section which shows three different types of countdowns you can make with step-by-step instructions; DIY crafts for adults, including a conference banner and visiting teaching conference kit; family activities, including fun service ideas; and ten conference-inspired Family Home Evening lessons which can be adapted for all ages.
Part two is titled "Listen." These are ideas to implement during General Conference and include a concession stand, marble jar, conference journals, and much more; DIY crafts which can be made by children during conference; quiet activities; family-favorite recipes (with pictures); and ideas for activities to do between sessions.
Part three is titled "Live it." These are ideas you can use throughout the rest of the year to help remember the lessons from conference. There are challenges and nine additional conference-inspired Family Home Evening lessons.
This is a resource that I will constantly be using from now on. There are great ideas and either instructions or links to print them out, which makes them super easy to implement. I love that there are so many to try that it will take a while to get through them so this will be a fabulous resource for many years to come! There are some great ideas that will work well in Primary and other callings, as well as in the home. Some will work better for younger children but there are still plenty of ideas for older children and adults as well. These women bring watching conference to a whole new level. If you are looking for ideas to step your conference watching and discussions afterwards up a notch, this is the book for you!
