The Wondrous Kite, by Julia Sandberg; Illustrated by Jason Sandberg
2015, 7p, Children's Picture Book
My Rating=4 Stars

What would it be like to be a carefree kite? This rhyming picture book imagines the world as seen by “The Wondrous Kite.” Perfect as a bedtime story, this book also serves as an introduction to the pet dinosaurs, pixie wings, and resourceful heroines that populate Jason Sandberg's eBooks.
This book is simply a collaboration between father and daughter. Julia Sandberg wrote a poem for school titled "The Wondrous Kite," and her father, Jason, illustrated it. It's super short and will literally take 10 seconds to read, but longer when you stop to admire the illustrations.
I love this idea! What a wonderful way to preserve his daughter's work. Her poem is creative and has a good rhythm. This will make a great bedtime story book for young children since it can be read quickly or take longer to look at the illustrations or discuss kites, of course!
This is another book I've read by Jason Sandberg and thought it was lots of fun, especially for younger children. You can learn more and read my review here. You can also check out more of his work on his Amazon Author Page.
This is the sweet and funny tale of a young girl named Candy and her Cankersaurus Rex! Candy receives a dinosaur as a gift and is determined to train him to be a good pet. This playful homage to Syd Hoff will make all dinosaur-crazy boys and girls happy!
“I’m a Fine Artist who also wants to produce the ‘missing books’ from my childhood, the books I wished I’d had.”
Jason Sandberg, born in Minneapolis in 1971, acquired a love of drawing after discovering the artwork of Jacob Kurtzberg. His paintings have been exhibited in Minneapolis and Manhattan. Art Historian Scott McCloud classified his work as “uncategorizable.”
