Blog Tour: Cassie's Cowboy Crave by Kimberly Krey

Welcome to... The Kissin' Tour!

Cassie's Cowboy Crave
Sweet Montana Bride Series
by Kimberly Krey
Published July 12, 2013

Twenty-four-year-old Cassie Lovell has a great job, good friends, and an apartment with a killer view. That is, until life is turned upside down. Without the chance to say goodbye, Cassie is forced into a witness protection program on Emerson Ranch. Just when she fears life is doomed, Cassie meets Shane Emerson, the stunningly handsome cowboy who’ll be posing as her newlywed groom.

Shane Emerson is determined not to fall for the woman he’s agreed to harbor. Especially since the whole thing was his family’s way of trying to get him hitched. So why is it when he takes Cassie into his home, Shane wants nothing more than to turn their make-believe marriage into more than just a sham?

In a moment of weakness, Shane steals a kiss.
In return, Cassie steals his heart.
Yet before they confess their undying love,
a hidden danger threatens to tear them apart.

*Although this novel is considered clean romance, it does contain passionate kissing and a few mild curse words.

What a fun, clean read! Cassie has to suddenly leave her life behind and enter the Witness Protection Program. Shane is helping to keep her safe and, living on a ranch with other single men around, decides the best way to protect her is to pretend they're married. Cassie's parents and boyfriend live out of the country so she's not used to having family around and the more she's around Shane's family, the more she realizes what she's missing out on. But of course there are complications, misunderstandings and a former flame that might come between them.

I loved both Cassie and Shane and they have some great chemistry! Yes, there is lots of passionate kissing and it lives up to Ms. Krey's motto of "Writing Romance That's Clean Without Losing the Steam!" I usually like a little more suspense or mystery when I read romance and while this had some, it seemed like more of a straight romance novel to me. There's a storyline with her in the Witness Protection Program but it seemed to get lost and I didn't feel like that was a huge part of the story (except for being the reason they met). That actually didn't bother me, though, because I was so caught up in Cassie's and Shane's relationship that I wanted to read more about them, anyway.

I also loved Shane's family. They had lots of get togethers and his sisters-in-law helped Cassie feel welcome. His family seemed like they would be fun to hang around and enjoyed being together. It reminded me of how I feel when my own huge family gets together and the fun we have (but since we don't all live near each other, it doesn't happen too often anymore). I felt like I could relate to his family which is why I enjoyed them so much and look forward to learning more about them in future books!

I personally enjoy reading clean romance and love the kissing without the behind-the-bedroom-door details that I don't need to read. I'm glad that there are authors out there willing to write clean romance (I know some of them write it because that's what they like to read, too) and I seem to be coming across more and more women recently that are looking for this as well and having a hard time finding it. I'm glad I have so many great books I can recommend where I don't feel embarrassed or have to warn about "that one scene." My pet peeve is when I'm reading a great book and all of a sudden, there's a random sex scene thrown in. It's because of that that I will now warn others and will read reviews more carefully so I can try to avoid that.

The only other part I would warn about is that there's an attack but it's not graphic. This book moves along well and was hard to put down. If this sounds like the type of book that appeals to you, then I highly recommend reading it!
