On Tour with Prism Book Tours...

The Kingdom of Soron bustled with activity as preparations for the Fall Festival began. Lively merchants, hardworking farmers, and musicians eagerly awaited this event of harvest and joy. This year’s festival was even more important, as they celebrated Princess Madeline’s betrothal to her knight champion, Daniel.

Celebration quickly turns to disaster as Prince Paulsen returns with curious demands, either Princess Madeline will be his, or no ones. Rejection turns to obsession and battle is declared.

In a tense struggle to decide her future, Princess Madeline must choose where to put her trust… in the king’s tried and true plan, the wizard’s cryptic messages and maps, or her own sense of bravery. Follow Princess Madeline on this adventure as she battles evil in an attempt to create a future of love and magic.

The fun continues!! Princess Madeline is back home now and she and her father have made some compromises and are getting along well. She is engaged to Daniel and learning how to be Queen one day. Preparations are under way for the Fall Festival. Prince Paulsen approaches the King and tells him he's come to claim Princess Madeline for his wife. The King reminds him that their deal was that he needed to bring her home safely himself and since he didn't do that, he doesn't get to marry her. Prince Paulsen is angry and decides that he will marry the Princess, and is willing to do whatever he needs to to make sure that happens.

A lot happens in this book. The wizards come back and we learn more about who they are and where Madeline's mother fits in. They aren't welcomed back since they were exiled by the King but Elias has important information for the King so they are allowed to stay. Elias talks of it being the time of the dragons, which is somewhat cryptic. The King gives Princess Madeline land which is beyond Dragon's Gate for her and Daniel to live when they get married. She's excited about that. Prince Paulsen does some horrible things to try to get Princess Madeline to marry him and everyone is needed to fight the battle to keep her safe.

Madeline is still a fun character. She has matured some since her return and, even though she still wants to do things her own way sometimes, she understands that she shouldn't be so rash, but she does still have the tendency to put her own plan into action. She feels terrible when she sees the lengths Prince Paulsen is willing to go to for her and she wants to do what she can to make him stop. I'm still loving her relationship with Daniel and they're so sweet together. She gets along a lot better with her father, too. I like the wizards and look forward to learning even more about them. And, once again, the ending hints at even more to this story and definitely more adventures so I'm excited for the next book! I highly recommend this series to any girl with dreams of being a princess and it's great for the entire family, too!

My Rating=5 stars

And now, for an excerpt!!

Knight Champion, Daniel
There was a sense of silent reverence as Daniel put on the remainder of his armor.  Fellow knights patted him on the back and crossed swords in a gesture of luck and goodwill.  The women and men in the square crossed their hearts, covered their mouths and blew him kisses to send him off with strength.  Some of the children were hiding, others were out playing with their wooden swords, and even they stopped still to allow Daniel to pass with respect.

The wooden gates creaked as they opened loudly and swiftly to the outside.  The strong echo of reverence from inside the castle quickly changed to challenging scoffs and cruel mocking from the outer edge.

Prince Paulsen's men had been moved back according to battle etiquette and were barricaded towards the village edge.  Prince Paulsen stood directly in front of Daniel, his sword dangling in one arm, leaning onto the edge of his shield.  His eyes looked him up and down, trying to find some weakness, a fault he could easily prey upon.  Knight Daniel stood tall, strong and firm, knowing that he was ready.

“You called for this meeting,” Daniel said, his voice clear and powerful.

“That I have, Sir Knight.  Apparently, you stole what I was promised, and now, to get it back, I must take care of you.”  Paulsen raised his sword and pointed the tip menacingly at Daniel.

“Princess Madeline is not a prize, Paulsen, she is our princess, the jewel of our kingdom, and a treasure to be respected.” Daniel said firmly and proudly.  Raising his arms, sword drawn and shield in position, Daniel clenched his jaw and set his feet, prepared for attack.
